Went for Magic in the Redwoods. A local event for Mtg. They had specials going on for people staying at the hotel. The rooms were great. Shower pressure was great. Continental breakfast wasn't great but it rarely is. Will definitely be staying again next year.

I'm not sure why the reviews are poor. We stayed here almost two weeks ago, on our way to the Redwood National Park. The hotel is historical and over 100 years old and in great shape for its age. If you want new modern you should probably go elsewhere. Tomo sushi was also really good, even my kids liked it. The only small complaint my kids had was the breakfast, which was just bagels, oatmeal and yogurt. But it's not worth giving a poor rating over. Would stay there again for sure.

The hotel and rooms are lovely and reflect the rich history of the building and town square. The location could not have been better. We arrived Friday night and found a great rock and roll band playing at Thw Basement on the square under Havana's Cuban Restaurant. Saturday morning we awoke to find an amazing Farmer's Market throughout the Square. We had a fantastic breakfast at The Big Blue Cafe in the square.

I spent 4 nights at the hotel and everyday was a delight. The front desk staff was exceptional. The room was lovely with the old hotel charm. Felt like stepping back in time while providing all the modern amenities anyone could ask for. Everything went smoothly from making the initial reservation to checking out. Will be staying again on my next trip to Arcata.

We had a great experience staying at Hotel Arcata over the long weekend. Conveniently located, accessible to restaurants, coffee shops.8 also provided a parking permit to park nearby. They allowed pets.

This quaint, centrally located hotel with old world charm is a delight, and the front staff was incredibly helpful. For those looking for a hotel with character and personality (not one of the 'anywhere highway hotels'), check this place out.

I love this historic hotel in the .middle of everything. Old school claw tubs are great for bubble baths, the rooms are smallish, but there is tons of common space and comfy chairs. There is meeting space downstairs, and a quality sushi restaurant downstairs and a donut shop around the corner. Visit the redwoods and the ocean shop the square and eat some fancy food.

This historic hotel on the north side of the city square was just the immersion our family was looking for as we explored the redwood trail. Its very near Cal Poly Humboldt, and the square itself has many restaurants, shops, and fun consignment stores. The hotel itself has many pictures in the lobby of the nostaligic days it has had over the last century. Rooms still have actual keys, no digital here! Out bathroom had a clawfoot tub and wrap around curtain for showers with all brass fixtures which were obviously built back when stuff was meant to last. If you want to step back in time in this amazing NorCal coastal town, you need to visit Hotel Arcata.
